Things began like any other day, with the kids catching the school bus and Mara going off to work. Luckily she took the Escalade. She didn’t know it then, but with everything that would happen that day it was probably what saved her life. When the Emergency Backup was finished, and the Escalade was finally returned, we were in shock. The sky was bright blue in the morning, and after Mara left, so did I. My office is right down the road a little ways so I always take the mini-coupe . All of a sudden the wind started blowing out of the southwest, big gusts. I didn’t think anything of it. If I would have put the radio on, like I did every morning, I would have known about the tornado, as I found out later that the warnings were everywhere . Unfortunately I was not listening to the radio, instead I was listening to an audio book . Mara had just gotten to town and the thing hit right in the center of downtown. It ripped down Main and over to fourth street. The tornado took off part of the Nieman Marcus building as well as the Trump Tower . My wife stopped the car in the middle of the road and ran into an old building to hide in the basement, which thankfully saved her life . It was about 10 days later when we got the Escalade back. What a mess.
I was really happy that Joe’s business was booming. We sold more cars last year than any other dealer in the Madison area. The one downfall of winning such a great award as a car salesman is, how does one retain customers . We kept on meeting and discussing the most inexpensive ways of getting some sort of computer system, on which we could keep everyone’s names, addresses, date of purchase, and all that. Currently we’ve been keeping yellow copies of the purchase and warranty receipts in folders marked alphabetically. As of lately, business has been so great that we don’t have much room left to keep these paper copies, all of the files and folders in the office and storage rooms are full ! Joe and the other salespeople have been racking their brains. What the most frustrating part of all of this is, is that we know what needs to be done, but everyone is offering to do it for an astronomical price, that we definitely cannot afford . Then, one afternoon, a young man wearing a suit and tie and carrying a briefcase walked into our dealership. We all wondered what he was doing here because it was obvious he wasn’t in the store to buy a car, he eventually told us that he was there with a Online Data Storage. He showed us the outline of the database he could implement for us and referred us to a store nearby where we could purchase the hardware. It was so easy! Hopefully we impressed him enough with our skills that he will come to us when he needs a new car . As for right now, we are still searching for the espresso machine.

“Look at this, will you!” Brian was pretty stoked about his music. The kid has so much music and records saved on his computer . I’m lucky if I can download anything on mine, but I usually play compact discs anyway. Due to my inability to download I was impressed and shocked by his collection . Brian doesn’t have a favorite alt rock group.
