What To Consider When Selecting A Tooth Grinding Treatment

A lot of us suffer from Tooth Grinding – about 10% of adults – and equally there are a lot of treatment options that can be considered.

So before you jump in and choose the first treatment put in front of you, it can be a good idea to think about factors you want in your treatment. Here are some questions that are useful to ask.

Is it a permanent solution?
Obviously, you want a solution that works permanently so you can forget about teeth grinding forever. Not all treatments work permanently however. Treatments such as Botox or anti-anxiety medication only offer temporary solutions.

How long does the treatment take?
Some treatments (like a mouthguard) can stay in place for a lifetime. While it may be the case that you eventually don’t notice it and it just becomes part of your life, do you really want to do something like that if you don’t have to?

Does the treatment involve major lifestyle changes?
Major lifestyle changes can take a lot of commitment and discipline to implement. While they may also bring a lot of other health benefits (such as the obvious benefits from quitting smoking), making big lifestyle changes might not be the best thing for you at this time. So you may want to adopt a different kind of solution.

How much does it cost?
Pretty simple really, and something you’d likely ask in any case. But one thing to consider is whether you can get a refund if the treatment doesn’t work out for you.

Is it quite simple to implement?
For example in some cases Yoga can work wonders for Bruxism, but it certainly isn’t a solution that suits all of us. If you’re not into Yoga you’ll likely want something simpler and easier to apply.

Does it really work?
Can you get testimonial evidence from others that it works and is a good solution?

As you can see there are a lot of things to think about. One solution that answers the above questions about Tooth Grinding really well can be found here.
