Spring brings with it a new joyousness of celebration. First, there is Easter, which which is a holiday at the beginning of spring. But there are also graduations, confirmations, weddings, birthdays, and Mothers and Fathers Day. Spring also makes one feel like celebrating even if there is no specific occasion. There are cookouts and impromptu gatherings after ballgames.

Will all these different occasions there is a drawback. Most of them seem to require us to give a gift. And it can’t be just any old gift, it needs to be an interesting gift that we can be proud of. I have a young son who can’t wait for school to get out each spring. Then he spends many days laying in the sun by the pool.
