I was looking at our local newspaper classified ads and I found an advertisement for used English saddle. I thought that was an unusual ad to see in a small town western newspaper. My curious nature got the best of me. I called the number in the ad and asked about the saddle. I was told they had recently moved out west and when they went out to ride, they learned why western saddles are so much bigger and heftier. They were not expecting trail riding in the mountains to be as difficult as it was. I didn’t buy the saddle, but I made a new friend. I invited her over for coffee and she brought the cookies.
