In the years of technological advancement the world has greatly changed its face. People have been getting further and further from the nature throughout all the history of humanity, and in the last several decades we have gotten that far from it that we alter it even with the smallest actions. Almost every person in the world has at least once in their lives contributed to polluting the environment they live in, and the most scary thing is that most people, both those who understand the consequences of their actions and those who don’t, continue doing it all the time. The most common way of waste disposal is landfill. What is actually a landfill? This is a huge pile of garbage buried in land, consisting of all the possible kinds of waste products – both biodegradable and non biodegradable, and uselessly occupying large areas of land, polluting soil, water and air. But the thing is that even biodegradable garbage can’t normally decay in landfills. Landfills have to be decreased in number and gradually eliminate, and that will solve numerous problems. But the major disadvantage of recycling is that not all of the waste is recyclable. But this is a negligibly small disadvantage as compared to the benefit of recycling could bring if we used it to the full. We can easily recycle such materials as paper, metals, plastic, glass, electronics, and asphalt. Many of these waste products exist in abundance, and greatest part of them lies uselessly in the landfills and is very unlikely to ever be used again.

Recycling is the greatest invention of humanity and the only possible and wise solution to the proper disposal of waste materials, but unfortunately many people don’t understand this or they just don’t care. There is a great need in every state to encourage people to recycle in every possible way. Great educational work is to be done, and this is the task of every separate government and the world in general. In some countries people get compensation for gathering recyclable products and passing them to the recycling company. People are getting more involved lately, but still the level of advancement of recycling on our planer leaves much to be desired, and it is to a great extent your primary task to contribute to recycling as much as you can.
