The Fantasy Career

Ever since Angela was a child, she envisioned herself as a private detective. She read lengthy books that featured the adventures of private detectives. She dreamed of hunting for clues, conducting stake outs and capturing crooks. To Angela, being a private detective for a government agency like the Central Intelligence Agency would make her life complete.

When Angela got to high school she became a member of the sleuthing club and took the forensics class. She still possessed a strong passion for obtaining a career similar to Sherlock Holmes. Some of Angela’s friends thought she was completely insane for fancying mysteries so much. She even lost a few of her supposed friends since they did not support her passion for sleuthing.

Angela didn’t have to have these friends. Besides, Angela just necessitated one partner, just like Sherlock Holmes had Dr. Watson. The only other thing that she’d need is a magnifying glass. Despite, these personal interaction hardships, Angela was able to persevere and get through high school.
Her next stop was college where she decided to double major in criminal justice and forensics. Although she didn’t need these degrees to get a jobin crime investigation, Angela thought it would be to her advantage to get degrees in higher education. Angela earned her undergraduate degrees from Washington University in Saint Louis. She was granted a diploma with the highest honors. During Angela’s college years, she maintained her intense love for sleuthing, but abandoned some of the effects of sleuthing on her exterior like an unkempt appearance. This allowed her to successfully mingle with others.

After graduation, Angela was presented with a position in Saint Louis, Missouri as a police investigator. She took the position, therefore, she was on her way to getting a job at the Central Intelligence Agency or the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Angela absolutely loved her career at the precinct, but she thought it was time to start moving up. After searching for jobs all over the nation, Angela finally located one that she was interested in. She applied for the job and received the title of chief crime investigator for the New York City Police Department. Angela said her goodbyes in Missouri and then travelled to New York. Wild and crazy New York City was such a huge contrast from rural Missouri, but Angela was able to adjust to the city atmosphere. She began solving cases involving drug traffickers, prostitutes, club disputes and shootings. Angela’s dreams had almost come true. She was not far away from her dream position. She worked in New York City for ten years and cherished every second of it. But, when she was offered a position at the Central Intelligence Agency doing very guarded assignments she took it. Her fantasy finally was finally reached. She was going to work for the largest crime agency in the nation. What else could she desire? Angela stuffed her bags and moved to the head office in Washington D.C. This is where she worked for three decades until she retired. Angela still has a zeal for investigating.
