There are certain women called (or who refer to themselves as) feminists, who try to achieve equality of sexes in every aspect of life. Some people support them; some say that they merely waste their lifetime for foolish things. Are their ideas really worth applying in our life?
One of the most important reasons which cause these types of protests is the fact that women are paid less at their jobs merely because they are women. Or, it would be more correct to say – men are paid more simply because they are men. The real problem is that no one wants to admit this. Most people are that accustomed to it that they don’t care about the equity in this matter, while the administrations of most companies will never admit that they pay women less.

The thing is that many women just don’t want to be equal with men, with the exception of particular situations. It doesn’t mean that they don’t have their own point of view or that they are weak-willed or something. They are normal women, and mostly they are very independent and progressive ones. It’s just that you we don’t have to confuse male and female roles in our life. Equity is good speaking of the salary, but everyone forgets about equity when it comes to paying for dinner at a restaurant. Of course feminists would argue that they would like a society where, say, both woman and man pay for themselves in a restaurant. But what is the point of existence of two genders on our planet then? Obviously each has its destination and role. And equity of sexes is a matter of humaneness, not more.

Returning back to the situation with male superiority in the working places, I absolutely support feminism here. It is really sad that for performing the same job and the same set of responsibilities a man would be paid a lot more than a woman, and it’s even sadder that most women prefer to put up with this unfairness. Why is that so? In spite of all the great achievements of feminism the problem of male superiority still exists. During all her life every woman is indirectly told that she is inferior. Women by their nature are prone to compromise and take things easily, so no one wants to make great fuss out of this. They are simply feeling no enough support of the environment.

It is hard to say whether the situation is going to change in favour of feminists or not, but it is certainly changing right now in some direction. Only we can decide where it will lead us and what the consequences will be like. Who knows, maybe in some decades the situation will change so dramatically that there will be a problem of men being treated much worse than women?
