Being a trainer, I have observed and witnessed some positive results. Good jumping always results in the overall dexterity of the person. Good jumper is able to outdo any kind of the opponent, when we speak about such games that resemble volleyball.

Let’s discuss what does it take to jump, not well, but just to jump? Briefly, the ability of the athlete to generate power depends on the fact how he or she can jump. The problem insists in the generation of more power. Actually, there are two ways of managing this. As far as the power depends on the speed, the increase in both can bring the positive effect. In fact the purpose of jumping program is to help the person to produce the combination of both factors mentioned before. As the result the body will be able to generate strength in a short period of time.

The questionnaire among the athletes shows that strength training is the most important thing if the person wants to jump higher. But the problem is that the majority fails to realize that there are different kinds of strength training. Traditional weight lifting, for example, fails to produce long term result. This picture is very vivid in the whole world. Have you ever put yourself a question of how money people in the football team belong to the high jumpers? None, yes? That is why it is no longer a weird thing that smaller person can turn out to be great jumper.

Besides, we need to train our speed. Usually, jumping programs are working with this issue. It is known that the athletes whose sports require brute strength are poor jumpers. The point is that their muscles have been trained to support weight, not to move it. Physically, there are differences in the muscles types that different athletes get with the help of training.

In reality the synthesis of speed and strength primarily results in power, but we should use this power effectively and carefully. This is all about the technique and our patience. For sure, technique is the vitally important thing while jumping. We are more likely to listen to our intuition than to obey the technique and it is the prior mistake. In this case only the good instructor can save the situation.
