The Hewlett packard LaserJet 6p Printer – You’ll Appreciate The Quality

Gaining an appreciation for the HP LaserJet 6p printer and HP LaserJet 6P toner is easy to do after spending a few minutes putting this versatile and low-priced model through its paces. It’s clear that Hewlett-Packard has intended this particular laser printer be aimed more at the small office or home office environment rather than for use in a networked workgroup. At that, the company has succeeded well.

For one, the 6p can print out about eight pages in a minute. This isn’t speed demon territory, but it does its job well enough. Also, it’s compact enough in size to enable it to fit on a desktop without disturbing anything else around it. There is no duplex printing capability, but most anybody looking for an inexpensive laser printer probably wouldn’t care about that particular function in the first place.

As if that weren’t enough, the printer itself is also very small in size, measuring only 16 inches in width by 8 inches in height. It fits snugly on any corner of a desktop, churning away and doing whatever it’s asked. It doesn’t offer two-sided printing, but that’s hardly of concern to most any home-office entrepreneur who needs an inexpensive printer that does laser jobs with ease.

When it comes to the quality of the print job that the 6p will be asked to produce, the Hewlett-Packard does it all at 600 dots per inch resolution. This is fairly standard in the performance category, but appreciation for it goes up when one remembers that the price will be so nice. In fact, there’ll be little to complain about with this printer no matter what is being considered.

The attractive aspect to the HP 6p is that it is able to be connected via wired technology or — optionally — wireless, for an additional fee. Most people will just stick with its wired capability which, when connected, will download all necessary printer drivers so the printer can be up and running within a very short amount of time after it’s been connected.

The printer comes with 2 MB of RAM that can be upgraded to 50 MB. It works off of the host computer’s processing power and all of it is managed via a 24 MHz processor, which helps to explain its eight pages per minute speed. Another attractive aspect to this particular printer is that it can hold up to 350 sheets of paper within its two auto load trays. That’s quite a bit of paper for such an inexpensive printer.

As far as its durability, Hewlett-Packard rates this printer at around 12,000 pages per month of duty cycle before it would require any sort of maintenance or replenishment. It has a single printer cartridge that’s good for 4,000 pages of product before needing replacement. Combine that with its low initial purchase price and cost-per-page ratios will be very attractive. Most any person looking for an inexpensive laser printer can’t help but be attracted to it.

In all, there seems to be a lot to like about the HP LaserJet 6p printer. It combines a low price ($60 at a couple of different retail stores, with the average price being somewhere around $90) with nice durability and easy connectivity. When all of its functions and features are added up, and when one considers that it’s a true laser printer, the HP 6p seems destined to be a presence in many home office environments.

Small cost-conscious offices will appreciate the reliability of HP LaserJet 6P toners.  Reprints cost money, in both time and HP printer toner, and there’s also nothing more annoying when in a hurry.  Using quality printer toners really shows its worth when it comes to professionalism.
