The various uses of plastic packaging materials
Plastic packaging materials come in a variety of forms. Shrink bands are used for tamper evidence on containers, plastic bags to store small items, stretch wrap to prep pallets for shipment and plastic tape for just about everything else. And this list is just the beginning. Read on to learn about the packaging materials that we carry and make CPS your one stop shop solution.
Shrink bands are in essence, bands of PVC plastic. When heated over a container or lid the plastic melts and creates a plastic seal around the product. This practice then makes the container tamper evident proof. Interested to learn more about tamper evidence? Read on.
Imagine Alex buys your product at the store. Once he gets home he will have the pleasure of breaking the tamper evident seal. This ensures him that the item is new and he is the first person to partake of the product. This practice provides comfort to the customer and safety for the producer. Plastic shrink bands are often used with spices and other food products, browse our collection to see if we stock your size.
Plastic Bags can serve a variety of purposes. Whether you use them as transitioning storage before final product packaging or as small gift bags, the items can be very useful. We carry zip lock bags in a variety of sizes as well as other specialty bags. For example, doorknob bags can come in handy if you are promoting a local business and want to leave advertisements throughout surrounding neighborhoods. Take a look at our plastic bags.
Plastic stretch wrap is used for wrapping pallets and shrinking them down for shipment. Ever wondered how this works? I was curious, so I did a little research.
Polymers are the building blocks of plastic. Naturally curled and intertwined, polymers are suspended in an elongated form in stretch wrap. Once the pallets of product have been wrapped, the shipment is exposed to heat. The energy from the heat awakes the polymers and encourages them to return to their spiral and knotted state. This action causes the wrap to tighten and shrink around the shipment. Purchase a M400 and try it yourself.
Do you have a facility that does a lot of shipping? Or maybe an employee that talks non-stop? If you answered yes to either of these questions then you are in need of some clear industrial tape. We carry tape in two sizes, 2″ X 110 yard, 3 X 110 yard.
