If you are planning or preparing for a funeral and your loved one wants to be cremated, new technology allows for their ashes to be turned into real diamonds that you can wear close to your heart forever! How is this possible? Read below to find out!

For instance, you may want to look into a new technology called cremation diamonds. These real diamonds are made from the ashes of your loved one and can be set in any sort of setting you like. If you are a little skeptical, read below about how cremation diamonds are formed.

First, several ounces of ashes are put into a crucible that can withstand temperatures of 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit. During the next few weeks, all of the elements except the carbon will be oxidized. Once this has happened, the carbon will begin to form graphite.

The graphite will then be placed in a core with a metal catalyst and a diamond seed crystal. The core is then placed in a diamond press and held at temperatures close to 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit and pressured of up to 8,000 pounds per square inch!

As you can see, a cremation diamond is created just as a natural stone, under intense heat and pressure. You’re going through a rough time, but having your loved ones ashes turned into a diamond will allow you to keep them near to your heart forever.
